The Elder had wandered aimlessly into this place, pleased to be away from others and away from the raging noise of the nearby city. It was still close enough to remind him that he was not alone, to be a comfort, but the noise and pollution often confused and frightened him. He’d arrived here with a mixture of shuffling and the odd flitter of swift, preternatural movement but under the tree, he’d stopped, muttering to himself. Then the leaves fell and he lifted his gaze and smiled. It was not at all a threatening or malicious smile from the bearded male, but it was most certainly friendly. “Hello…” He greeted her cheerfully, doing his best to be friendly and gentle.

At first, all Emily could do was stare down at him in shocked silence. Something deep inside of her screamed for her to run away, despite the ancient's seemingly non-threatening nature, but all she could manage was a slight twitch of her lips. So she closed her eyes and desperately tried to sort through the chaotic mess that her panic had driven her mind into, at least enough to come up with some sort of acknowledgement of his greeting. She may have been terrified, but she was not rude.
"H-hello" she returned, her voice barely rising above the soft din of the night and the gently winds that blew through the very tree in which she sat. "I-I-I wasn't f-following you or anything. I s-swear. And I wasn't hunting... N-not here, anyway. If this is your-- Your territory or-- O-or whatever... I was just-- It's so nice out... You can still f-feel the warmth of the sun in the trees" she said, trailing her pale fingers over the bark of the branch on which she perched.
