Bajofondo Tango club - Pide Piso
A piece of all the nice things about Argentina that i can still love, so I can remember they still exist even though it's a shitty country
Bajofondo – Pide Piso (GTA Remix)
One of my favorite songs so far this year gets a hard-hitting tribal remix. The heavy percussion leaves just enough space for the piano line – chopped into a different rhythm from the original – to weasel its way in. File under: Songs That Will Make Me Dance So Hard I Get Whiplash.
Bajofondo- "Pide Piso (GTA Remix)"
From Paste:
Boasting members from Argentina and Uruguay, the Latin-flavored band Bajofondo delivers a bombastic amalgamation of electronica, rock and acoustic tango. Leading the group is Gustavo Santaolalla, a composer for such award-winning films as Brokeback Mountainand Babel. A well-regarded figure in the music industry, Santaolalla has been awarded a Golden Globe, two Acadmey Awards, two Grammys and a dozen Latin Grammys for his work.
You already know GTA did this song/artist/band justice in this remix...
Bajofondo performing Pide Piso (2013)
Multiple-time Latin Grammy winning act, Bajofondo recently released their latest effort, Presente on March 5th through Sony Masterworks, and the album is a 21 track high-energy album which melds several traditional genres of South America in a rather seamless and playful fashion. On stage, Bajofondo’s eight members use traditional instruments like bandoneón alongside live video mixing, samples, and scratches to spellbinding effect. Their North American tour (which included a stop here in NYC) has offered crowds a chance to see one of the most acclaimed live acts in the world that recently drew hundreds of thousands at an outdoor performance in Buenos Aires. Certainly, this is the sound that's hot on the streets of the Rio de la Plata region of Argentina and Uruguay.
"Pide Piso" is the first single from the album, and it was recently remixed. The remix gives the song a gigantic, club-ready feel -- the sort of song that would make 150,000 people at an outdoor festival lose their minds while retaining the slick piano chords (which seem reminiscent of the tango).
