In Defense of AniMat
A while back, I made a satirical post with AniMat’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 review as the subject. I have since taken down that post and looking back, I shouldn’t have made that post to begin with. For those who are not in the know, I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is Mr. Enter isn’t as controversial of a figure as he was years ago (guess people finally got tired beating that dead horse). The bad news is now AniMat is the most controversial figure in the animation community, and for very petty reasons at that.
“AniMat has a hate boner for Sony Animation.” This is such a hyperbole. AniMat has been critical of Sony Pictures Animation since the early days of his channel. His reasoning for it can be summarized here at 12:40: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSyRf2EgocU. The tl;dr version is he’s not a fan of the way they make their films and the way they function as a company. I actually enjoy Sony’s animated films (yes that includes The Emoji Movie, don’t @ me), but I still respect his opinion. As for the way they run their business, it’s been reported before that working at Sony is rather difficult to say the least. What with overworking employees just to make deadlines, canning projects that had real potential (i.e. Popeye and Medusa), it’s not hard to see why Mat has been critical of them as a company. Has he gone a little too far at times? Yes, and he owned up to his missteps here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDojB0jEPos. A a final note, saying someone has a “hate boner” for not liking something isn’t being smart or critical. It’s immature and stupid. Please stop.
“AniMat insult’s fans and filmmakers!” Oh give me a break, you know he’s not like that. Maybe if this was Clay Claymore or MegaDoopTV (oh I’m sorry, Professor KuhToons) I can definitely believe that. But AniMat? The same AniMat who politely passed off angry letters demanding him to review Rock Dog to check out Lewtoons’ review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xbcbn3FMTI. Or how about that time he rightfully called out people who got their panties in a bunch over the Thundercats reboot to the point where someone threatened to start a shooting at CalArts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO3od74EYVI. Oh, or better yet, when he actually complimented Phil Lord and Chris Miller (the guys who directed Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) for their work on The Lego Movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA1B-_DUrmE. Yeah, that TOTALLY sounds like Stuff With Scout Fly -.- . And if he does snap at people, it’s more often then not when people test his patience or insult him as a person that makes him go on defense.
“AniMat never shuts up about Donald Trump!” Uhhh, why does that matter to you? If he wants to give the President a piece of his mind, let him. I don’t give a turd about Donald Trump. I’m a Democrat. His words and actions are dead weight to me and that’s not what I subscribed to AniMat for. Just ignore his Trump posts and move on.
Honestly, this is all complete lunacy. First Mr. Enter, then Ben The Looney, and now AniMat? Who’s next, PieGuyRulz? Alpha Jay? Shadow Streak? Rebel Taxi? Must there always be someone to burn at the stake in the animation community? AniMat may be critical towards Sony, but that’s no reason to put words in his mouth and make him look like the bad guy. That’s all I got until next time when The One and Only C. R. Martin becomes the next lightning rod for controversy -.-
Fanart for my favorite cartoon reviewers.

Ok I think this is the best interpretation on the more questionable aspects of the production elements of Ed, Edd n Eddy.
It explains how all the cartoon violence and meaner themes fall in place to make this show play off even better.
