2 more months down. Only 2 more to go! I love how different these 2 are. Each month has its own vibe and I'm pretty happy with how unique they are.

So this happened today. Spencer caught a pigeon in the freeway median under an overpass. I had to call highway patrol to stop traffic so that I could safely cross and get my bird back. Everyday is an adventure! 😅 I’m just glad Spencer didn’t get hit by a car and I got him home in one piece. My main worry is that now that he’s learned he can catch pigeons in that spot, he might try to go back and do it again. I hope that’s not the case!

Spencer scored another pigeon yesterday!

He spied the flock foraging under the bridge that sits across the street from the elevated park that we were guarding. He glided across the park in stealth mode, then dropped down under the bridge at the last minute, never flapping his wings once. The pigeons didn’t notice until he was right there, and that point he was able to select the most vulnerable one and make his move.

Good boy, Spencer! You’re a lethal force. A champion.

It was a good work day for Esperanza and Spencer yesterday. They each caught a pigeon! That’s my first work day double. Spencer caught his early in the morning in a parking garage where they like to hang out. He grabbed one and tackled it to the ground but lost his grip and ended up standing there confused with a ball of feathers in his foot! 😆 I then got him back on the glove and sent him up again and this time he connected to one and held on. That’s #4 for Spencer! Atta boy. Esperanza caught hers in fine style with an epic tail chase. She really wanted it! She saw it trying to roost for the night under an overhang on a third story balcony. She flew up there and flushed it out, then proceeded to chase it between buildings in a big loop that ended right below where the chase began! She gradually gained the whole time until he pigeon panicked and ended up flying into a glass door on the second story balcony! Esperanza hit it hard with a smack that could be heard across the courtyard. She earned it! I’m especially proud of that catch because it was one of the “problem pigeons” that has been tormenting us for months. Good girl, Esperanza! Go team! 🥂 🎉
