#pikachu amiibo

A friend of mine asked what I wanted for my wedding, and I told her I wanted to make pikachu cake toppers, but was unsure if I should actually do it.  She encouraged me to go for it, then gave me two pikachu amiibos as a gift! I set to work on them right away.  I was so happy with the way they came out, they were my first custom amiibos. It was one of my favorite things that day that really made my husband and I smile!

Mappy is my favorite classic arcade game. Oddly enough, the thing that sold me on Pac-Man’s inclusion in Smash were the Mappy references in his moveset and taunts! You just can’t go wrong with trampolines as a central play mechanic. So I knew for my next amiibo project I wanted to make a Mappy with the nearest available mouse. I decided to go the “cosplaying Pikachu” route, but I’m not sure how Mappy-ish it looks without the big round ears.

My first Amiibo custom! Ashchu! This custom is based off of an episode of the anime, in the Johto Journeys season I believe, in which for the end of an episode and the start of another Ash Ketchem (the protagonist for those who are unfamiliar with the anime) gets turned into a pikachu by magic (don't ask). I dunno I really wanted to get into the Amiibo craze and this seemed like a fun project! So what I did to the figure was fairly simple. I painted over the eyes and made them like the human eyes in the anime. I used acrilyc paint for all of it, the only exception being the black on the eyes which was Gundam Marker (a REEEALLY fine tip one). The "Fluff" on the sides and his forehead is leftover Warbla we had lying around, glued to him with Super Glue. Finally, the hat is made out of Friendly Plastic.

I want to train my Pikachu amiibo but I just learned to perfect pivot and I'm trying to learn to do follow up combos. So far I got side tilt and side smash attack. Oh. And back air along with fair. Soon pikachu amiibo. Soon. I just need to get better with pika. He's not my main but pokemon all day erryday
