My first Amiibo custom! Ashchu! This custom is based off of an episode of the anime, in the Johto Journeys season I believe, in which for the end of an episode and the start of another Ash Ketchem (the protagonist for those who are unfamiliar with the anime) gets turned into a pikachu by magic (don't ask). I dunno I really wanted to get into the Amiibo craze and this seemed like a fun project! So what I did to the figure was fairly simple. I painted over the eyes and made them like the human eyes in the anime. I used acrilyc paint for all of it, the only exception being the black on the eyes which was Gundam Marker (a REEEALLY fine tip one). The "Fluff" on the sides and his forehead is leftover Warbla we had lying around, glued to him with Super Glue. Finally, the hat is made out of Friendly Plastic.

I've had this guy built for over a week, but I only just got to photographing him for various reasons. But anyway, I present: The 1/144 HG GN-0000RE+GNR-010 00 Raiser (GN Condenser Type) This is the version of the 00 Raiser that was featured in the movie "Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer". From my reasearch, this kit is virtually identical to the 00 Raiser + GN Sword III kit, except for 2 things. The first, of course, is the GN Condensers that you put on instead of the normal GN Drives (The kit still comes with the original GN Drives, and the condensers are just sorta tacked-on to one of the O-Raiser's trees). The other difference is that the O-Raiser has a silverish fake-cockpit instead of the Orange one it had in the show. I do not have an original O-Raiser to compare, but from what I've seen I think I prefer the Orange Cockpit. The kit features a lot of stuff, which I've tried to picture most of here. It includes: The GN Sword II's (Seen in Pic 1), which can combine to make a double-bladed staff of sorts, and also includes beams that go onto it (Pic 4). It also includes the GN Sword III (Pic 2), which is similar to the blade of this suit's Predecessor, Exia. The kit also includes a beam effect part for the Raiser sword which he uses a couple times in the show (Pic 3). And of course you can use his beam Sabers that are mounted on his back-skirts, and also come with beams (Pic 4, though I'm not sure if that's the right beam since I have so many XD). The kit also comes with his shield-blade thingy's that I never much cared for but are there (Pic 4 on shoulder, pic 6 mounted on GN drives). Finally of course the O-Raiser itself, which can be taken off and put on the suit at will, and comes with his own black stand for one 1/144 kit (O-Raiser separate in pics 4 & 5, on the suit in pics 1-5 & 7, and stand used in pics 1-5). The last couple of pictures are me comparing it with another kit I have, the 00 Seven Sword/G. It's mostly to show how I actually did my first spray painting and (good) detail work on this new kit, but also to compare the 2 versions of the 00 Gundam after the end of the show, and to see how the O-Raiser works on the Seven Sword/G (Pic 7). The final picture shows a comparison between the legs of the two, one with using the included stickers (Left, 00 Seven Sword/G) and one with the painting I did (right, 00 Raiser Condenser Type). I did aluminum on the legs and the weapons where there would be grey stickers, and used my metallic green gundam marker on all the clear domes. I also painted the upper part of the V-Fin Gold on the 00 Raiser. Overall, I'm very happy with this kit, and it turned out beautifully. I have another 00 Movie kit that I got at the same time that I'm going to paint and build soon, so stay tuned! I got this kit for #32 USD at my local Comic Book/Geek Store, so you can look for it there or online at places like Amazon.
Thought this was only gonna have papercrafts on this blog, didn't you? Anyways, I present the newest member of my Gundam Model Collection! SD (Super Deformed) XXXG-01W Wing Gundam (Endless Waltz Version) I got this a few days ago, and built it in one night. The next few days were spent slowly painting this guy and making him look good. While I admit I didn't do a Stupendous Job (As indicated by some accidental residual Red on the wings, among other parts) I'm happy with how this little guy turned out. All his accessories are shown here and he looks pretty good on a shelf. Yes, the stand does come with him (Though I accidentally sat on it and broke it, and It's fairly obvious I super-glued it back together XD). The wings, buster rifle, and shield all combine to form that Buster sword of sorts in the last two pics (this was the first time I'd build that so I may have done that wrong). Then there's it's "Neo Bird Mode" as shown in the 5th pic. He's a little loose, but a good kit overall I didn't do a whole lot other than paint the parts that required a sticker, so it's a nice kit. I got it for about $14 bucks Available online from stores like Amazon or you local Hobby store
Second papercraft for this summer! Name: Buffy Summers Occupation: High School/College Student; The Slayer Origin: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV Show) Difficulty: 6/10 (until you get to the hands, which I give a 8/10) Download page: http://ninjatoes.wordpress.com/2009/04/30/buffy-summers-the-vampire-slayer/ One thing to note is that I printed the parts out on tabloid size paper (11"x17") instead of normal letter size paper (8.5"x11"), so my Buffy is bigger than she normally would be XD
It’s been a while! But here is one of two papercrafts I’ve been working on this summer!
Mech: Metal Gear Rex Origin: Metal Gear Solid (PS1 game) Difficulty: 7/10
I’m sorry to say I don’t have a download link, but just google “Metal Gear Rex papercraft” and you should find it. The craft also in includes the parts for “classified mech” from Metal Gear Solid 3 (not sure what it exactly is as I haven’t built it, but images show it to be a variant of the Shagohod from MGS3)
My first update! This is a papercraft I finished a few weeks ago (and is actually one of the reasons I made this blog) Ship: Serenity Class: Firefly Transport From: Firefly (TV Series); Serenity (Movie) Difficulty (Out of 10): 7 Pattern can be found here: http://www.planetstarfreak.de/modeling.php?id=serenity
