“The Mists. Home to those dearly departed and the scene of a never-ending battle that rages constantly just out of sight of Tyria, known by most simply as the Mist War. I myself sometimes take the plunge into the Mists to study the land, but I rarely get myself involved in the Mist War, however there was an exception.
“After conduction a few interviews some of the participants of the Mist War, I was about to take my leave when I noticed a small group of mixed combatants returning, looking rather battered and bruised. I was about to ask them for their input on the War, but they quickly regrouped and moved on. This happened several times, with each subsequent time the group appeared more and more worn out until eventually some of the group left. The remaining stragglers argued amongst themselves, placing the blame amongst not having a medic in the field, or not having enough damage to take down their enemies. Curious, I decided to inquire about their current situation, only to be dragged into a War I didn’t sign up for.
“Time passed by as we ventured in the Borderlands, narrowly evading larger groups of enemies, wrecking havoc on supply camps, and reclaiming towers from our foes. A sense of nostalgia began to creep up on me as I was reminded of my days with the Legions, my Warband, and my Order. Soon night fell on us, and the warriors deemed it time to return back to Tyria.
“I didn’t get their names, and for now I’m not sure if I regret that decision, as each one complimented each other nicely in combat, and seemed to know each other very well. A mere mercenary scholar like myself couldn’t possibly find myself fitting into a tight-knit unit such as theirs, but the camaraderie was a nice change of pace for me...”
Thoroughly enjoyed this Double XP weekend in WvW with some guildies! I hope that ArenaNet decided to do more of these events to coerce more people to play!
