Coffee Talk Creator’s Newest Visual Novel ‘Afterlove EP’ to Launch Later This Year; Free Limited Time Demo Available Now
From Noisy Pixel
Fellow Traveller announced they will publish the Pikselnesia-developed visual novel adventure Afterlove EP on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam later this year. A limited-time demo of the game is available now on Steam until May 13. Afterlove EP is the vision of Mohammad Fahmi, the creator of the beloved Coffee Talk series, whose passing in 2022 led the Pikselnesia team to continue his legacy and bring his dream to life.
Afterlove EP is a narrative-driven game set against the vibrant backdrop of modern-day Jakarta, focusing on a young musician named Rama grappling with the sudden loss of his girlfriend, Cinta. As he navigates his grief, Rama is compelled by Cinta’s voice in his head to complete his debut EP and explore the possibilities of moving forward and finding new love. This slice-of-life adventure combines elements of dating sims, rhythm games, and narrative storytelling to offer players a deeply personal glimpse into the challenges of overcoming personal loss while engaging with the rich cultural setting of Indonesia.
The game vividly portrays the city of Jakarta through manga-inspired artwork by the acclaimed Indonesian artist Soyatu, featuring detailed character designs and recognizable local landmarks. Players can immerse themselves in the social dynamics of Rama’s world, making choices that influence the story’s direction and outcome. Accompanying the visual and narrative experience is an emotive soundtrack provided by indie band L’alphalpha, featuring songs in Indonesian that underscore the game’s emotional depth.
Publisher Fellow Traveller and developer Pikselnesia have announced dating sim, rhythm, and narrative adventure game hybrid Afterlove EP for PlayStation, Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Humble Store). Specific PlayStation platforms were not announced. It will launch in summer 2022.
Here is an overview of the game, via its store pages:
About
Taking place in the vibrant city of Kajarta, capital of Indonesia, Afterlove EP is a unique mix of dating sim, rhythm game, and narrative adventure, where players will inhabit Rama, a young musician whose girlfriend Cinta has recently passed away.
Whilst his close friends and bandmates are all determined to help him move on, Rama is languishing in his existence, dwelling on the promises he made to Cinta before they could be fulfilled.
But there’s one more thing keeping Rama from moving on, and that’s Cinta herself, whose voice now lives inside his head. As he explores the city with Cinta in tow, Rama’s choices and interactions will lead to a variety of possible story branches, and ultimately a number of different endings.
Also featuring beautiful, manga-tinged art from renowned artist, Soyatu, and an original soundtrack from indie band, L’alphalpha, Afterlove EP brings the less-explored city of Jakarta to life, and offers an authentic and emotional story with light replayability.

There is good in the world, only if you choose to see it.
Cinta
In relationships, we don't always see the other person. We push our ideas of who we think they are on them.
Kak Mus
You have to remember that people aren't just connecting with your words. When they listen to your music, they're also connecting to themselves. How a lyric made them feel.
Maria
Make sure to take some time for self-care today.
Satria
Everyone deals with grief differently.
Music isn't only about the compositions and theory. You're supposed to feel something.
No one's life is the same, but we all have similar experiences.
You're not the same person you were, and you won't be the same person a few years from now. So you might as well make the best of it and try to have as much fun as you can.
Tasya
Talking to someone for even perspective might help.
Rama
At least we have memories.
Getting too absorbed in one thing can really drain you.
Zak
There's nothing better than crushing on someone. It's like a little secret you get to carry around in your heart.
Don't think too much, Live your life as you see fit and cherish the good people around you.
Everything that lives must die. No one lives forever.
How do you expect to find love if you can't even wait for a flower to fully bloom?
I guess, no matter what the circumstance is, Everyone has something in common.
Listen, a piece of advice from one dead person. If you have to choose, choose life. It's much more worth it. I know things might seem hard, and it sounds easier to just let go. But life is one thing you can't get back. Better enjoy it while you can.
Simply being taken care of is enough.
Things were great at the beginning until they weren't. And when that happens, it affects you emotionally and sometimes even physically.
You can spend the time and energy to choose which toys you'll play with or which cartoon you'll watch. And yet, adults choose to spend their energy and time in their heads. What a waste of energy.
You ever heard those generic stories about how we should spend more time with our family before we die? I used to laugh at them. But now, I can't stop thinking about my family and the time I won't be able to spend with them anymore.
