These are wonderful. Anabel hates taking medication and fights me no end when i have to give it to her, but with these? She just scarfs it right down.

This week we are reviewing Trudog’s Surprise Me – Hide the Pill treats for Large dogs. Riley and Wynter were excited to do this review!
Our dog, Riley, is a great dog. But sadly, he was born with a lot of complications. So as a special needs dog, we accepted the responsibity to give him a lifetime of love as well as a lifetime of caring for his medical needs.

How to Administer Medication to Your Pet
Whether you are giving your dog medication temporarily or giving a pill for long-term treatment, administering medication to your dog is not an easy task. Not to mention, some dogs have become masters at avoiding medication and/or spitting it out when you aren’t looking. As you can imagine, I have a lot of experience getting dogs (and cats) to take medication and there are a few things you can do…

CAIRO LIKES PILL POCKETS MY LIFE JUST GOT SO MUCH EASIER
Warning: Gross descriptions of pet injury
My poor Skid kitten. Like I posted about HERE (warning: gruesome wound photo) he got bitten really bad & had to get surgery, leaving him with drains & sutures. On top of how miserable that makes him to begin with (tho he's handling it well) I'm having to keep him locked in the bathroom so a) he doesn't ooze all over things from his drains and b) so the dog & the other cats don't try to "help" by licking the sutures OR try to play "is that thing a cat toy?" with the drains, resulting in further injury. Of course there's no way I can explain that to HIM, he just thinks I'm being miserable & cruel and keeping him locked up for no good reason. :-(
On the bright side of this whole thing, if you're a cat person and have to give your babies pills I HIGHLY recommend Feline Greenies Pill Pockets. Skid is a MONSTER to get pills in to usually, but he LOVES these things, it makes giving him his antibiotics a breeze.
The treatment total's gonna set me back around $1000 total, unfortunately. Takes out the $ I was saving towards a new computer I need for work and means a delay in my next dental cleaning. But my babies' health comes first.
PSA for those who are owned by cats:
Greenies Pill Pockets are the best thing since pull-top cat food cans.
Seriously. After much frustration and no small amount of blood loss, I started researching easier ways to give a cat a pill. These were the answer. Pop the pill in the sleeve, pinch the ends closed, and put the "treat" in front of the cat. Down it went, no muss, no fuss, and she was looking for another. It's almost as easy as giving a pill to a dog (with one of my girls, you just had to toss the pill in the air). I don't think I've ever wanted to say "Where have you been all my life?" before, but there's a first for everything.
