Federal government urged to save Ontario’s basic-income pilot project

A federal Liberal MP said Ottawa and the province should talk about how to see the program through to its conclusion so policy makers can learn from the evidence that will be produced

Ottawa is facing calls to save Ontario’s basic-income program, after the Ford government’s announcement that it will halt the pilot threw thousands of its poorest residents into disarray.

The previous Liberal government had wanted to see how a basic income, or money with no strings attached, could improve the effectiveness of the province’s social assistance.

But less than a year after some 4,000 residents in Thunder Bay, Lindsay and the Hamilton region started receiving the basic income for a three-year test, the Ford government decided it will slash the program saying it was not working the way it was intended.

Tom Cooper, the director of the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction, which worked with the province to recommend people for the program, said the announcement was “a betrayal of the lowest-income members of my community.”

Banksy

After the story which happened with the Banksy, I went to Sotheby’s to see the work which was partly shredded. The work is worth even more now than the day it was auctioned at the time of the shredding. The owner of the work decided to exhibit the work for free for two days in Sotheby’s and I was fortunate to see it and photograph it. It made me feel how art is not just about the final piece but is always a work in progress.

Title: Secretarial Italian Holiday  Rated: Teens up  Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fluff, General Craziness  Pairings: Honey/Trois, Uno/Jyugo, Rock/Nico, Hajime/Momoko, (pending various other relationships)  Characters: Most of Nanba’s colourful cast 

Summary:  Honey is a recently fired journalist who hopes to find some peace by going on holiday in Italy. His love life has not been doing well either, and when he visits the famed Juliet's House in Verona, he trails an interesting youth only to find the Secretaries of Juliet. (Pilot project, fic idea is from the movie "Letters to Juliet")

Note:  So, we have a probably been through anger management Honey and a very sweet Trois, coupled with all the colourful characters of Nanbaka. I just had to write about them after ep 10 of S2, so vóila! Please enjoy and as this is an interactive type of fic, I'd love to hear your suggestions!
