❝ Even more hours a night? Ya don’t say. ❞  The smaller duck said fondly, grinning up at his much larger boyfriend. He quickly took to holding Launchpad’s hand, and felt a familiar warmth in his chest as he did so. His boyfriend had too many good qualities about him to list, and knowing what times Hamburger Hippo is open off by heart was definitely handy for when the two wanted to grab a bite to eat but weren’t sure where to go.

❝ You know, I am feeling rather peckish. ❞  Drake patted his stomach lightly then smiled at Launchpad, resting his hand that wasn’t already preoccupied onto his boyfriend’s arm, squeezing lightly.  ❝ Does that mean you’re offering to buy me dinner, LP? ❞  He tilted his head with another grin, the smile and happiness on Launchpad’s face as contagious as ever.

Of all the ghosts of his past that show up to haunt him, this one is the least expected. Maybe it’s because all Klaus really remembers of his past are the bad parts, and Launchpad is more of a fond memory than anything. The fond ones don’t tend to be remembered that often, and seeing the old man standing in front of him now is ... weird, to say the least. Klaus leans against his door frame, half-empty bottle of alcohol in hand, draped it in a satin robe, gaze somewhere between hungover & mildly amused.

“You got oooooooold.” Probably not the best way to greet the only positive father figure he’s ever had, but Klaus has never been one for sentimental reunions. “Seriously, the years have not been kind to you.”

He's just going to sit. And he's just going to tug Drake close and hold him. That's just what he's going to do.

Not a problem at all. In fact, quite welcomed. Good thing his boyfriend was the comfiest person on the planet.

As if he’d let Launchpad live it down. Saving the life of another was always a big achievement (mostly for him anyway), but assisting someone in need brought a sense of happiness within. Of course, the pride always out shined that aspect of performing good deeds.
