A question that I've asked myself is if there is such a thing as a polka-dotted wasp, and the answer is yes, sorta. For what it's worth, this species of Piogaster (Ichneumonidae, Pimplinae) has a decent polka-dot pattern on different parts of the body mixed in with other unique markings. This is just a cartoon of it, but I plan on drawing a scientific version as well. It's seriously so cool. I can't really release the pictures publically, but my drawing is pretty close to accuracy, especially regarding the patterning.
