And let me clarify from my earlier post:
I’m not trying to attack anyone here or start an argument, just to have a discussion about something. I’m trying to figure out a way to talk about this without offending anyone or using the phrase “assuming a sexuality” lol.
I also don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with assuming someone is gay. I am made uncomfortable by the implication that it’s okay to say you know how someone else identifies 100% when that someone, while they have indicated that they are queer, has been dating the same person for the last 5 years and hasn’t given us any other clue as to what their sexuality is. It's not the assumption that they are gay that bothers me; it's the assumption that they couldn't possibly be anything else that I find narrow-minded.
