So, @pink-lyrium asked me and a few others how our OCs would react to being told “don’t ever change!” Thank you for asking btw! It was interesting to think about!
Evelyn would take it as a compliment at heart, but there’s a twinge in her mind when she hears it that goes sorta like, “But what if I do change? Sometimes I can’t control that,,, what if I get hurt and am forever changed?” She doesn’t say it outloud though, she assumes that the person that said it meant it in a good and positive way and yeah, she does feel good about it but at the same time there’s that conflicting thought that pops up as well that she tries to push back.
I think she’d prefer to hear like an addon to the phrase, like maybe, “don’t ever change! But if you do, just know I’ll be by your side” or something to that degree. That would automatically quell that twinge of doubt.
