the space behind his eyes throbbed, pain splitting through his skull in white hot flashes. he might of screamed if he could remember how. instead, he sat, curled forward with his face buried in his hands, teeth bared and panting. every heart beat, every thump of his pulse, every second that his blood flowed through his veins, the pain flared. it wouldn't stop. it couldn't stop. nothing else existed except the pain and the dark.
❝ don't. just . . . gimme a second. ❞ cosmo managed to chew the words out past gritted teeth. he jerked out of liam's hands, and it had to be liam. he'd been with him when it happened. it, being walking into a pit of half starved, moon drunk feral shifters. cosmo wasn't entirely sure what he'd done, but one moment he and liam were being surrounded and the next . . .
" shut up and let me help you. "
cosmo opened his eyes to glare at liam. his pupils had dilated to something resembling normal but the whites were bloodied red. he squinted at liam through the harsh light when he grabbed him again, lifting cosmo to his feet. another burst of pain and cosmo was forced to squeeze his eyes closed again. reluctantly, cosmo leaned on liam for support. he couldn't hear the feral growls of shifters so cosmo could only guess that he'd either pulled liam and himself into some kind of in-between space.
❝ well . . . at least we know what the gigante's are doing with all those missing shifters. ❞ // @pinkopaqued , liam dunbar .
