Wednesday 30th September, week 2 of college

it’s the middle of week 2 and I already feel so far behind! I’m working a lot because we’re rejigging the roster so I’m covering a lot of little shifts - good for monies, bad for productivity.

I had my first face-to-face lab today - I only have 6 in total - which was a very strange experience. it was a veterinary public health lab about the microbiological examination of fresh meat which freaked me out a little bit. the sample we had looked so normal but it was not acceptable in terms of microbe growth!

my new planner is super duper cute and it has lots of room for checklists which is v important for me! I got it from PlumPaper and I’m thrilled with it.

anaesthesia is a wonderfully interesting subject but my goodness is it hard work

I’m essentially home alone today because Daddy is at work, Mummy has gone to visit her great aunt on the other side of the country and my brother is going to be asleep for the vast majority of the day - his last exam was yesterday. fortunately for me I have my two darling pups to keep me company!

Friday 2nd October 2020, week 2 of college

good morning lovelies! it’s Friday! I have a few live neurology lectures this morning and then I’m planning on spending the rest of the day trying to catch up. I had my first full day off work yesterday and I got a bit done but not as much as I would have liked.

I’m so loving doing college from home - I can get up and take my time getting ready, make tea and brekkie (a yoghurt granola bowl this morning) and settle down to learn without having to commute anywhere! it also means that my dogs encourage me to go out for a walk either at lunch or in the evening.

Saturday 3rd October 2020, week 2 of college

I was productive yesterday so I’ve set myself another monster to do list for today to keep getting back on top of things! first up: neuro.

I have my little diffuser going with wintery scents and I have my ambient study noise of a fireplace in the background, so I’m all set up for a cosy day.

two Pomodoro sessions 🥰 after a few days last week of feeling a bit bleh about study, I’ve had a nice productive bank holiday weekend which has been great!

it was snowing this morning and I have a candle so it feels very cosy in my little corner of the world

studying piggy health today which is relatively easy going because the general gist is “best practice = be nice to the piggies” - it does make me sad because I remember pig placement and it was HORRIBLE, but it also reminds me why I’m so fussy about where my meat, particularly pork, comes from
