i’ll try to fix my writing to be more poc inclusive, as someone with a poc father and grandmother who aren’t very dark skinned i have seen the way their colour can change with certain ranges of heat (like a blush or a sunburn) but i understand that there are poc who are much darker than my family

Supernatural 12x01 Keep Calm and Carry On Thoughts

Great start for the season! I’m excited for the rest!

Majority of the episode just kinda drowned me in feels, the Dean and Mary interactions made me so emotional and so proud. Like, Mary, look, look at your boy. Your little boy who used to run around the house and give you hugs and kisses, grew up to be this man. This man who is a little broken and a little worn, but still the same boy who looked at you with all the love in the world.

Also that smirk she gave Dean about the Impala’s backseat was gold, and Dean’s expression? Priceless.

Also can we all just cover Sam with blankets and give him hot coco and hugs and puppies. As much as I love Sam being all bloody and grunting (and I really did love it because I am a shallow masochistic Sam!girl who loves hurt!Sam), I also kinda want some comfort after the torture. It would be interesting now that Sam technically has two mothers to likely fuss over him.

The British MOL is very interesting. Killing monsters as soon as they set foot in Britain does sound like a good idea, but... it also sounds very inhumane. Monstrous. Like, I get not waiting until a human gets killed before going after them, but it’s just a very black and white view. It’s a very weird distortion to what used to be Dean’s “If it’s not human, we kill it.” It’s a sharp contrast to Dean and Sam whose hunting code evolved to letting monsters who are not hurting people go.

Cas hugging Dean was something I really needed. I missed these two working together on a case. Cas just casually stealing a truck made me crack up. Also I don’t know why but it was fun watching them getting their asses kicked together.

That torturer lady who was kicking their asses was pretty great? And Mary being the one who killed her in the end? Awesome. Payback for torching Sam’s footsie, ha!

Although I think this is the first time Mary killed a human and I can already see the guilt complex kick starting.

I... am unsure about Toni Bevel. I want to know more about her but also not because SCREW YOU lady. Although I think this torturing-Sam-thing is having the reverse effect of her wanting to crack instead of Sam. That expression on her face in the end while she was watching Sam on the monitor looks a lot like guilt.

I love the episode. I laughed, I screamed, I almost flipped my laptop. Great job, Mr. Dabb!
