The minutes had passed without a moment for air— my first day of freedom. The anxiety that barely faded away, and yet was the only thing keeping me going. Maybe if I had calmed down, kept hidden in the shadows for a little while, I wouldn’t be in this mess. No need for speculation. The only thing they do is make you more depressed about your situation. The only thing that’s reliable is the truth. And the truth is, I’m trapped here with no way out. I could fight, but I don’t have the will nor the strength for it. Especially not against my captures. They were twice my age, size, and insanity. Another truth is that without Auntie I would be dead by now.
Although my situation isn’t ideal, there is no luck getting out. That was a luxury that most can afford, like Auntie Harls. She left her situation with that madman. Hopefully she can be free of her past, of her demons, and of, well, me. I, on the other hand, have no way to escape. I can’t just up and leave like Harley, nor can I slip out like I had done before.
Until he no longer finds me useful, there is nothing I can do but wait.
