I tend to go through phases about how I feel about blogging and sharing stuff through social media. Lately most everything I post are images of my family. Hopefully this lets you know my order of priorities in life. I can create music all day long, but my family is the best gift and creation ever. I do not want to miss out on these great moments of his first few months of life. Even when it is challenging and difficult physically, spiritually, financially and mentally.
I stopped everything when my wife was so sick after the baby and that included finishing out some of the last few Pledge campaign shipments. We are about to start the process in the next few weeks to get those finalized and to everyone as this is weighing heavily on me. I could not have made my album and continue to make albums with out the support of all of you. My fans are my family, my friends and the biggest part of my team getting my music out to the universe and keeping it alive. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything all of you have done for me.
Part of my Pledge campaign was writing a song for one pledger. Until now I have only shared it with him. But I just want to keep sharing more music with everyone, including songs I go in and track in a day. I feel it is the artists duty to put their work out into the world no matter what the medium, now more so than ever. We need more love and music and art can bring so much joy the world no matter what your background is.
So here is the new track To My Daughters I Leave My Home. I recorded this here in Birmingham at PipeandGun/CommVess world headquarters. My brother Chip Kilpatrick played the drums and did some chanting and everything else was played by me. I really hope you enjoy it. Download it, Share it, but it on a cassette, burn it and film it. Just pass it around. I plan on sharing a lot more songs in the very near future.
