24. How much planning/preparation do you do for a game?depends on the game. sometimes i’m like, super prepared, especially on the rare occasion i dm, but usually it’s updating my character sheet at a bare minimum.
33. How do you write your backstory, or do you even write a backstory?i usually take notes during character creation- i know these languages, so why do i know them? i prioritize certain skills over others- wherefore? sometimes i already have an idea in mind- my character is a bookworm, and learned sylvan from a book of fairy tales. sometimes i get the answers as or after i finish- my character spent time with drow, and so knows undercommon. (most of my “my character knows x therefore y” is related to the languages i take.) sometimes i’ll use random generators to give me ideas- a generator, i forget which, gave me an output of “sparrow,” so my character’s son is named sparrow,
