but fucking anyway for serious the worst part about ace discourse is so fucking often you get ace non-supporters who come up to me and other people saying stuff like “these ace people totally fucked up my development and abused me and used their beliefs to manipulate me, etc.” And You Can’t Do Anything about it- tumblr and people around tumblr can be absolutely horrible and there is no shortage of absolutely screwed up people there are around here, ESPECIALLY with our generation plagued by mental illness that isn’t prepared and inhabits this website, ESPECIALLY because this website hosts so many fringe and minority groups who experience alienation and conflict and bullying and that can cause bad things to happen like... I honestly believe asexuals are no different. They’re no less or more well meaning than any other group on tumblr. That’s my take and it’s probably ganna be like that in my mind for a while. I CANT easily convince you to step outside your circle of trust and try to talk to asexual people and experience asexual people that actually aren’t bad. I CANT CANT CANT un-traumatize you, and it’s hard, and it’s such sensitive territory that’s it’s so hard to navigate and make sure the person that you’re trying to talk to knows you’re not out to get them, you’re just trying to show them something positive about aces. It’s hard and it’s emotionally stressful for me and for them and for everyone.
