You know that song "Piplup Step"? What if Soni got it stuck in her head all of the sudden and she started to do the dance and it became popular in NRC?

👀 had to go find the song and listen to it & watched the video choreography so let's goooo

Soni is, for a lack of a better term, awkward about dances.

She's not used to doing those sorts of things, but if she's singing it or humming it, then that's not as embarrassing for her. Happiny hears it because Soni uses songs to encourage Happiny, which causes the little bun to look it up on Rotophone, and thus the little bun dances to it. Soni gets dragged into dancing it with Happiny, which is probably the only reason why anyone would see her dancing to it.

Deuce does the dance, Ace gets pulled in, and suddenly the whole first-year group does it because they were all planning on hanging out anyways!

Imagine the other Pokemon from the other dorms learn about the song and that's how it spreads to the other dorms.

Somehow and some way, people from outside the school just know the song (Rotom probably uploaded the song on the internet once people kept requesting it in other videos) and it overcomes the world by virtue of how cute the song is.
