Both grew up in relatively positive environments (aunt mito raising Gon/ Kurapika being surrounded by their clan & culture)

Both had a harsh intake of the real world around the age of twelve(if we are going by 2011 timeline(Kurta massacre/kite’s death))

Both had revenge as a trauma response (killing pitou/the spiders)

Both left their homes at the age of twelve

Both have a very deeply worried and caring partner who tries to reach out to them in vain (Killua because he too is going through shit/Leorio bc he’s being ghosted)

Both care very deeply about their friends/family and would do anything to keep them alive/honor them (again with the revenge thing)

Both probably suck at math (Gon canonically/a personal hc for pika)

The difference is that kite survived and Gon was successful while Kurapika still struggles for revenge and is slowly killing themself

Wrong and wrong. Kurapika knows how to keep the kids safe, is the one giving them shelter and food and lots of toys. Leorio is the one who does all the stereotypical mom stuff. He cooks, he cleans, he works under a role usually associated with women (nurse).

This is probably a hot take but Kurapika should only be shipped with Leorio or neon. They’re still practically a child, even going by manga timeline, and since it’s implied most hunters are way older than them, those two are the only logical pairings. Same can be said for Leorio.
