i missed drawing my fave aasimar pirate girl
Little dribble from the perspective of my new DnD character, a butch lesbian pirate on an all-queer crew.
I guess you could call me her body woman. We don't so much have assigned roles on our ship; we're all equal, a family. But when facing the rest of the world, she is our captain, and I am the one she trusts most. I stay by her side most of the time, arrange things to make her life easier, help her dress (and undress), and yes, protect her when the occasion arises that she needs protection. You might assume this is because I'm stronger or more capable a fighter than she is, but that's not the reason she needs protection. Think about how recklessly I run into danger. When it comes to the safety of our crew, our family, our brothers and sisters and lovers, she is even more reckless. She puts her life behind everyone else's lives. That's how she got captured, putting her crew's lives before her own. I am the only one she allows to put her life before mine. She needs to take care of others. It's who she is. I'm the one she let's take care of her. Sometimes that means covering her back in a fight, sometimes that means putting her to bed when she hasn't slept in 36 hours. She let's me do this because she loves me and knows how much I love her. She knows this is how I need to love her, and on some level she realizes it is how she needs to be loved sometimes. Any one of us would die for her, but I am the only one she would allow to die for her, for she knows I would die without her anyway.
That all sounds really dramatic, I know. I'm a romantic. I can get all dewy-eyed and poetic talking about our relationship. It's not as simple as I make it sound. For instance, you probably see me as a prince running off to save her princess. But Captain Malathorn is not a damsel in distress waiting to be saved. We have a plan.
