Magic was always astounding him. Robin wasn't a simple man, or rather he didn't believe he was, but magic always surprised him. When the merry men heard of a magical device designed to locate people, they knew that it would either help them in their quests to steal from every nobleman in existence or it would fetch a lot of gold for many needy families. Either way, it was something they needed.
Robin wasn't sure when he was voted the sole man on the quest but as he stood in the castle cellar, he wished that he'd put up more of a fight. He wasn't going to be able to fire off arrows and run away from danger at the same time. He'd tried and failed, which was why he formed his little group in the first place.
His back was flat against the cool cobblestone wall as he listened for any signs of life. There was something, but he couldn't be sure how far away that something was.
Slowly, he withdrew his sword. Though he favored his bow above all else, it wasn't the best weapon in close combat. Robin readied himself for whatever might be between himself and the loot.
