“Hey, I have a quick question for Aibo owners- why do battery repacks...”
NO NO NO NO, do NOT try to repack it yourself! The eeprom in the battery can be tripped easy. The cheapest battery repacks are offered by Fleur (and I think Bruce) for $85.

Bruce offers battery repacks for $75 for ERS-31X batteries and $85 for ERS-210 batteries, most other sites offering repacks right now are scams. You definitely do have to work with the circuitry since Sony did not want people repacking the batteries on their own and the battery will be ruined if you just swapped the cells. I don't know the specifics of how this is done, but the EEProm needs to be reprogrammed in order to accept the new cells and it's a risky process and easy to render the battery a brick if you mess up.
Ah, ok! DRM in the charging control circuit makes a lot more sense. And don’t worry! I don’t have any Aibo batteries at risk here, I was just curious!
I’d love to know a little more about getting around the DRM if anyone knows how!
This is Eddie my AIBO 311 sitting down and watching a short episode of an anime called Piroppo. It was commissioned by Sony and as well as including two AIBO as characters, it outputs tones that my AIBO can understand and react to.
I need to by the dvd with all the episodes on now.
