Grass Whistle - Link x Pit

Day 3 - Music Note: Underlined words link to the song being played. <3

"Hey, Link..." "Yes, angel?" "...It's too quiet out here. Play me something!" "Oh, so I'm supposed to pull a musical instrument out of thin air?" Glancing over at the angel lying beside him in the grass, the Hylian chuckled lightheartedly at his little request. He thought the point of being outside was to enjoy some peace and quiet, but then again, this was Pit - he couldn’t stand to be surrounded by silence for too long, and Link could understand that. "I'll see what I can do..." Blue eyes wandered around, looking for the tallest blade of grass he could find. Upon spotting one that was a good five inches long, Link plucked it and placed the verdant blade to his lips, giving Pit a smile as he began to whistle a simple song. As the first sweet-sounding notes reached his ears, Pit turned to lay on his side, a hand braced underneath his chin to keep his balance while his free hand played with the lush grass beneath him. Before long, the angel was hanging on each and every note that Link played, a smile forming on his face while his fingers tapped along with the high-pitched tune. Where had he even learned to make music like that with just a blade of grass? It fascinated the angel - he wanted to learn how to do it, too. Anything Link could do, he could do as well. Boyfriend or not, they were still friendly rivals! As Link finished the small tune, Pit grasped a blade of his own, holding it up, "That was amazing. I want to try it now!" "Have you ever used a grass whistle before?" "No, but it can't be that hard, right?" Without waiting for a response, Pit blew at the grass blade - and only managed to do just that. Blow on it. No sound came out except for his sputtering as he tried once, twice, three times to get one simple little note out. The pouting angel glared at the grass then aimed his gaze at a now giggling Hylian. "...How did you get it to work? Maybe this one is broken." After having a pretty good laugh at that statement, Link lightly booped the angel on his nose, "It's not hard, but it takes a little practice, too. My godfather taught me how to use grass whistles when I was little kid..." "Okay, so teach me!" demanded the impatient angel, practically bouncing on the spot. "Alright, alright, first off, do you know how to whistle?" "Yeah, simple--" Pit demonstrated by whistling a few random notes. "One of the first things we were taught when I was being trained for Lady Palutena's guard." "Huh, I never knew that..." Link remained on his back, fingertips twiddling with the grass blade. "Well, that's the hard part out of the way. Now all you have to do is just whistle into the grass, and you'll have your song." "...That simple, eh?" Pit shrugged before thinking of a random tune he could play. Hmm... Oh, he had the perfect one. With a grin, he shut his eyes and began whistling into the grass blade. For a moment, Link wasn't sure what tune he was playing until he began to hum along, predicting the next notes - clever little angel... he was playing his twin's theme song. Before long, the angel finished and smiled victoriously at Link. "Ha! I did it!" The Hylian gave him a small round of applause, which brought a cute red blush onto his winged lover's face. "Very good, especially for your first try." Shyly, Pit leaned forward, surprising Link with a firm kiss that was eagerly reciprocated. Still blushing, the angel's wings spread out briefly, fluttering behind him with a happy little hum while the Hylian merely chuckled softly in the kiss. When their lips parted, they leaned their foreheads together (their signature display of affection), smiling with childish glee as their eyes gazed at one another. "Now that you know how to use your new instrument... care for a little duet of our song?" Link whispered softly. They hadn’t been dating very long, but during a night they had spent together a couple of week previous, they had mutually chosen a rather peaceful, romantic sounding song to represent their relationship. "...You mean this one?" With that, Pit began whistling into the grass blade. After the first few notes, Link held his own blade to his lips, joining right along with him and sending sweet little melodies into the spring air.
