Favorite Music Friday (on an actual Friday) - Pixie Edition
OK, it's been a while (like weeks ago), when @casa-dei-corvei tagged me with this fun little opportunity to share more of my eclectic taste in music.
Shamelessly share the song or piece of music that is *your* current favorite. If you discovered it yesterday, been listening to it on repeat for weeks or months or years, find it really meaningful, find it fun or funny, find it super technically well made, you just like it because, any reason at all: please share!
Look guys (GN), I have a new playlist that consists exclusively of Wrestling Entrance Songs or music that is - in some way or another - directly linked to professional wrestling.
BUT!
I need to share something with you, that lives in my head rentfree for quite a while now.
Sometimes I forget they exist and then youtube suggests a song and I am right back into the rabbit hole!
I am no particular fan of k-pop or the whole system that is behind that industry. I never even had a boyband phase ever in my long long life.
But those 4 guys are just SO DARN PRETTY!!!! And they sing so well! And their outfits are so... EXTRA! Everything is so over the top but still so good!
Find me staring - once again - at the phenomenon that is
FORESTELLA
(I post a compilation that is longer than an hour, but fear not, the tracks are cleanly divided and I recommend their cover adaptations of well known pop songs as a starting point. Bad Romance, Despacito, Smooth Criminal, Bohemian Rhapsody and Abracadabra are perfect for a first taste)
Did I mention that they are all so so so so so pretty?
gentle invitations to share some music under the cut
It's Friday once again and I want to join in on the FMF again. This time untagged but eager to share some more of my weird favorites.
Most of you know that Professional Wrestling is - beside Dragon Age - the second hyperfixation love of my life.
Recently I made a new playlist, filled with all my favorite Entrance Songs from Wrestlers from all over the world.
Sometimes I don't even like the Wrestler that much, but their music just slaps!
So today I invite you into a world of glamour, drama, pain, humor (yes Wrestling can be s damn funny!) and unparalleled show(wo)manship and athleticizm.
I just love me some violent physical soap opera!
Free Ride - Chad Gable
This one is pretty new and stuck in my brain for a few weeks now. I love the Dadrock vibes and even though Gable is not one of my particular favorites I very much vibe with his new song
Shadows of a Setting Sun (Shinsuke Nakamura theme) - Shadow of the Sun
Nakamura's theme "The Rising Sun" builds the theme of this rework when he turned heel. Even though I chose the version with lyrics, this theme is one of the few ones that I also like as an instrumental song. (I'm a big fan of words with music, so most of my favs will be songs that have at least a few slapping vocal lines)
Esfinge Entrance Theme
I won't lie, I love this silly reggae vibes of this song about a luchador with an ancient egyptian persona.
I Bring the Darkness (Baron Corbin Theme) - Tommy Vext
Another one that is already a bit older but I still love that song a lot
Harder Hart (Julia Hart, House of Black Version) - Colin Young feat. Emma Boster
This one is an older version of that still existing theme, but I absolutely loved the faction "House of Black" and their motto "the house always wins" while they worked together in AEW.
In the new version this hook-line in the song has been changed to "the heart always wins" which makes no sense to me and is only half as cool!
Elevated - Will Ospreay Theme
Easily one of my absolute favorites ever!
usually it's absolutely necessary to hear the live crowd yell "Ospreay Ospreay" but I couldn't find a live version where no one of the commentators continued to talk during over the music. So have here a studio version of this song.
Broken Dreams - Shaman's Harvest (old Drew McIntyre Theme)
This one is so old it's from times when I didn't even watch wrestling. But it slaps so hard! (Also Drew is one of my forever favorites)
Trouble - Liv Morgan
This is so much fun! Liv is the perfect heel and this song is just perfection
One Problem - Rich Latta ("The Problem" Marina Shafir Theme)
I love how Marina Shafir lives and breathes her moniker "The Problem". I would not want to mess with that beast of a woman in the ring.
Arriba los rudos, Arriba la dinastia - Los Hermanos Calavera theme
Heard this one once on tv and actually never get it out of my head again. I have no closer attachment to those guys in any way, but I DO love this song!
gentle invitations to look, listen and play under the cut
and YOU, if you read that and love rambling about your favorite music
Thank you for the tags @elishnord @casa-dei-corvei @selennes @serialsforbellara @serensama @zennihilation @jenn2d2 @kogarashi-art @xkatchy and probably a bunch of others that my mentions do not show anymore because I a VERY late to the party
That's why I put out open tags for this aesthetically beautiful game.
Play here with the where/when of your birth (you don't need to share that bit when you post!)
I actually ADORE my result!
Tag 9 people you would like to get to know better!
I love to play this one from time to time so I'm always happy, to be tagged once in a while.
So, thank you @kogarashi-art for the tag and you really made my day for letting me know, that you actually adopted some of my favorite songs into your playlist <3
This time I am actually able to put something into categories that were left blank for far too long. I am a little proud, that I actually started reading again and can sit through a whole movie once in a while... So lets go:
Last book: Girls of Riyadh (I have many opinions on that one but can't really put them into words. Interesting read anyway.)
Last song: Nachbeben - Alligatoah (some type of artsy, artsy German rap/hip hop with a strong message. The hook basically says: "Look after your soul!")
Also:
Cult of Personality - Living Color (Thank you CM Punk for planting this to live rent free in my head)
And since we are already in the wrestling rabbit hole:
AJ Styles' entrance theme: Phenomenal
Last Movie: Just yesterday I watched 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Ralph Fiennes is just brilliant and the whole thing has so many brilliant little moments. I never watched the early movies of this loose series but the two 28 years later films I really liked.
Last Series:
OK, I was binging very hard recently.
Feel good TV wise I am still waiting from week to week for my Great Pottery Throw Down fix.
I watched a bunch of seasons "The Traitors US" and figured I like the British, Irish and Aussie versions better.
Then I fell into the "The Man in the High Castle" rabbit hole, took a brief break to check out the latest season of Bridgerton and will continue to watch it as soon as the remaining episodes are available.
Yesterday I stumbled across "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy" and peeps let me tell you... I sat there for 7 episodes, kicking my feet, grinning like an idiot and crying like a sentimental baby - all at the same time.
Salty or Sweet: Yes
Coffee or Tea: Yes
Currently working on: Survival and personal well being... just kidding... my bullet journal and a variety of Cara centered fanfics.
I gently invite to play:
@bronzieinthedas @handsignals @lycheecatee @genjyoandgojyoandhakkai @serialsforbellara @elishnord
@rooks-dagger @therivercrow @zennihilation and everyone else who wants to share
Today‘s probably the most important doctor‘s appointment of my life and I just plain and simple beg those who follow and interact with me (and maybe even like me a little) to be kind shadows at my side today and cheer for me.
Yell at me about your blorbos, your headcanons, maybe something around all the letters going around lately…
honestly, I just crave for positive vibes to make it through this day and its possible aftermath.
the wonderful @serensama tagged me with another pinterest game and since I‘m a sucker for visual vibes, how can I miss this out.
𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒: 𝑔𝑜 𝑡𝑜 𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡, 𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ "𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑒 + 𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑒," 𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑠𝑖𝑥 nine (I dunno it just looks neater) 𝑝𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑠. 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑡𝑎𝑔 𝑠𝑖𝑥 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒
I could have gone with pixie, but then pixiecore is way too easy, right? So whoever is paying attention, will now learn my real name.
You know what? I really dig those
As usual in those things, I don‘t I kindly invite to play:
@alystrin03 @bronzieinthedas @therivercrow @davrinsleftpectoral @wardenparker @antivan-sprig @himluv @rookinthecrownest @casa-dei-corvei @draco-illius-noctis @rookamell @nelsynoo @hyperions-light @rook-de-rivas @thedissonantverses @ezriell @blackwall-my-tiny-husband @midnightwind @motleymercurialmarionette and who ever wants to take this and play with it.
Look, it‘s 32 degrees Celsius outside. That means inside my flat it will easily rise up to 35C or more rather sooner than later. But I have an urge to play DATV… And my decade old laptop does not take the game‘s requirements kindly anymore… So… I gotta do what I gotta do, right?
