Reading Trials of Apollo, and, uh, Uncle Rick kinda just forgot Percy’s age and grade?? Like it says Percy missed his junior year of high school bc of Hera:
But it was his sophomore year?? Cus he was 12 in sixth grade so he would be 16 in sophomore year. As proof, in TLO, when Percy’s 16, he says that he doesn’t wanna peak in sophomore year:
So, when Percy goes missing shortly after this, he misses his sophomore year, not his junior year.
And, in the first TOA book it said percy answered the door wearing a AHS swim team shirt/hoodie, which is explained in the Tower of Nero by Paul:
It says senior year, which is totally wrong bc it would’ve been his junior year. More proof of this incorrectness is when Sally says that Percy went to New Rome with Annabeth and Grover (for college) bc he graduated high school:
When I read this, I thought immediately, Percy’s too young to have graduated high school! Because he would’ve had to be 19 when he graduated. Even if we say that the Trials of Apollo started ~6 months after the war with Gaea ended (according to Wikipedia), that’s only ~5 months after Percy turned 17. Then, given another 6 months for the duration of the books, that’s still only 11 months after Percy’s 17th birthday, so he’s not even 18 in the last book!
So, when Apollo first showed up at Percy’s door, Percy would’ve been 17 and in his junior year, not his senior year at AHS. And when Apollo went to Percy’s house the second time, Percy should still be at home, in his senior year of high school. In addition to forgetting Reyna’s backstory, Rick forgot Percy’s age!!
But, all in all, marvellous writing, loved the plot line, and Will is a lamp. Still stan Rick Riordan ❤️❤️❤️
