Sorry for the long silence, but we were working like little busy bees to get this ready. And now…It’s here! Your hard work will be part of the gorgeous box set, as well as part of the Fangamer store after this is over. Be proud! Show your mom! I know that I did…

Please keep in mind that artist compensation (for selected entries) will be distributed after the Kickstarter is over, when the book is going to print. Hey Guys!

HEY GUYS!

We’re still waiting on the written entries, and we don’t have a specific date for printing (viewers of the Earthbound Bash might remember the Kickstarter that we announced, which this book will be a part of, and so the date depends on that).

HOWEVER…

We’re also still waiting on print-ready versions of MANY entries. I sent out messages to all of the artists who submitted chosen entries, but have only gotten responses from a handful (this is what we get for using tumblr, where messages disappear and everyone changes their username monthly…).

If your name is on this list below, please send me a print-ready version of your entry as soon as possible, along with your REAL NAME/whatever you would like to be credited as/any links you would like associated with your work. Send this to [email protected]

As a reminder, this means that your image must measure 6x9 (with bleed if possible/relevant), and 300 DPI.

Smiles and Tears, as interpreted by Paul Chapman

Verse 1

I bear a life's memories on my back

Though I have not even lived twenty years.

My faded red cap, old shoes, yellow pack,

Recall to my mind smiles and tears.

Verse 2

This baseball bat has defended me well.

This bracelet here has blocked hundreds of blows.

And in my mind, Psi power, magic spell,

With these, we conquered our foes.

Verse 3

My journey starts in Onett, my hometown

Where I fought Giygas' creatures all alone.

Giant's Step was my first showdown

Then this song came into my stone.

Verse 4

To Twoson I ventured then

And fought a cult serving blue, Giygas' men too...

Paula joined me, and again,

My stone picked up this strange sound. Two Sanctums down...

Bridge

(Ghosts and zombies, hotel ladies

Sending both of us to Hades;

Paula's psychic call brought Jeff,

And he helped us GTFO.

Grapefruit Falls, three-minute waiting,

Master Belch, fly-honey-baiting,

Gold mine, Fourside, magic cake,

Eating it was my mistake.

I saw Prince Poo's great ordeal,

Lost his mind so he can't feel

Then I woke and there he found me

Guess that cake must have unwound me.)

Verse 5

Once I was one, but we now numbered four,

And so we shared in our joy and our pain.

Our struggle was more tough than before,

But we would not fight in vain.

Verse 6

No desert, swamp, or cavern could defeat,

And our friendship grew with every fight.

Soon my stone's song was completed,

And then, the brilliant light.

Alone I walked in dreams, both bad and good.

Everyone I ever knew was there.

With my friends, I battled Giygas,

And prayed to wake from the long nightmare.

Now the dream is done, and my friends have said farewell:
