I'm a former Navy Deep Sea Diver, and I'm curious about one of your pieces. What's the story behind the drawing of the diver and the iguana with "Munich 1937" on it? Was part of, or related to, the degenerate art exhibit? Thanks in advance.
I was taking some art history classes in college around the time of that drawing. The place and time have something to do with what you mentioned, but these drawings were more stream of thought than anything else. That probably doesn’t clear much up, but that’s how it goes sometimes with these pieces. I tend to prefer hearing other people’s interpretations of them considering their seemingly random origins. Thanks for the interest! Have a good day or whatever it happens to be now
Lady Cahm and Sir Keeth of the Ostrich-Watsun Monster Hunting Collective Ink on paper A commissioned work for some amazing friends.
Reworking an old commission while I stay with the friend who commissioned it.
A look at a sketchbook of mine while I draw commissions I can’t post yet! I’ve been working on this one since 2014. These are words I drew while on the subway in NYC, except for the spine - just did those. They’re all ripped from subway ads and signs. I drew most of them while on the subway, which is why they look the way they do. I’ll have the chance to finish the page soon. Stay strong out there, travelers!
