Walgreens let me book my COVID shot by politely clicking a box indicating I'm eligible without asking further questions.

I am technically eligible (yay bipolar), but it does feel vaguely like being a 13yo happily clicking "Yes, I'm 18 years or older."

*ushers people urgently toward pharmacies*

I'm still a Covid ward nurse

In the last couple months I've seen 3 people die specifically and directly because they chose to go on a cruise or bus tour as their way to enjoy retirement / enjoy their time before they need a rest home

Covid ages older people a decade in a week

People who were still managing to live independently at home with maybe a cleaner once a week - again and again I see them spend 3 weeks in hospital and be forced to discharge straight to an aged care facility, if they come out of it at all.

Don't let older people go on things like bus tours and cruises.

A memorable holiday with your partner, very easily ends with one of you losing your life, and the other never being the same again, and never being able to go home again.

Wear a mask.

Get vaccinated.

Quit smoking.

Encourage community or social events to continue to provide some degree of Covid safety.

Devastating news, my friends!

I attempted to take my mask off of the wall yesterday and put it on, only to find out that it had broken:

It is rather unfixable, as it is, regrettably, made of inexpensive material, and as such I cannot repair it and will, unfortunately, have to purchase a new one.

Well, I have been waiting for an excuse to spend good money on a new mask, as I found I was struggling to breathe in the now-broken one after only a year of owning it (I've been wearing this one for about three years).

If anyone has a recommendation for a merchant from whom I may purchase a new mask, please do not hesitate to tell me!
