Something I wanted to draw from my own post last year that I forgot to share!
pov: a goth dude with some whack ass bird beak mask comes up to you and asks if you want some herbs. and you, non the wiser, thinking him to be but a seller of the devil’s lettuce, say sure. he opens his coat jacket to reveal rosemary, parsley, sage, and lavender. you, being the plebeian with unbalanced humors that you are, are confused. the bird man, realizing that you are not the esteemed intellectual he perceived you to be, is disappointed. the crows watching from afar cast a disapproving gaze, for they too are not pleased. you begin to wonder, are the goths alright? and the answer is no, they’ve turned feral.
𝓟𝔩𝔞𝔤𝔲𝔢𝔠𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔉𝔞𝔰𝔥𝔦𝔬𝔫: Basics
𝔗here is no set “rule” or “standard” plaguecore fashion. As long as you feel comfortable wearing what you like and you feel good in it (and you feel good wearing it with your mask!) then that is what is most important.
𝔗his is a somewhat a combination of what I wear that I consider thematically “plaguecore” plus what I feel translates the classic plague doctor look into a modern perspective.
𝔗his is not intended to a guide on creating a plague doctor costume/outfit, though it could help if you’re not going for exact historical or “accepted” accuracy. This is just a fun list of suggestions to incorporate elements of the aesthetic into your everyday wardrobe if it is something that would interest you or make you happy. I will probably make more thorough posts covering each category over time (and some additional details and accessories), so stay tuned.

. plants are wonderful especially lavender
. has a lot of incense to help everything thing smell good
. there are glass bottles everywhere full of dried herbs and god knows what else
. shelfs full of books especially old looking books
. crows? ravens? rats? leeches? yes please
. tons of journals or sketchbooks
. is bordering between trying to keep an organized life and just becoming a cryptid
. do I even need to mention how beautiful old medical tools are? They’re just, so good
. collections of masks, candles/lanterns and dead stuff
. loves learning about the history of medicine
. the black death, just, wow
If this is already a thing I haven’t seen anything about it but I feel this so deeply
