The 1960s cocktail party: where young couples gather to sip mysterious canned beverages through paper straws (we were ahead of our time, then forgot, then remembered again) and eat appetizers that look like they came from a Jell-O mold. The paper lanterns suggest this is either a sophisticated soiree or someone's idea of a "tropical" theme. Everyone is impeccably dressed because apparently you couldn't just "hang out" back then, you had to perform "successful young adult" at all times. The guy's plaid jacket is working overtime, and the woman's dress has flowers because it's the 60s and that's the rule.
