De voortuin van STAM - Stadsmuseum Gent wordt deze zomer een plakboel. Met papiertape worden betonnen muren, trappen en glazen wanden omgevormd tot een stad in de stad. Plakstad! Een hele maand wordt er onder begeleiding van kunstenaars gespeeld met lijnen en vlakken, met textuur en volumes die doen denken aan de stad.

Ball of Tape, a fun side project

his ball of tape started as a project against boredom. I simply started making a ball of tape during class, it was my last year of high school, I was around 18 then so it must have been around 9 years ago. I continued doing this when I was in KASK (academy/ college). But I stopped making it bigger five or six years (2015) ago I believe. It was always my plan to cut it in two and photograph it but it kept rotting away with other stuff on a hall (storage place)... until now! It is 14 august 2021 and were doing this man!!! This work has been destroyed to make room in my house. I put thus online to keep the work alive somehow. Deze bol tape begon als een project tegen verveling. Ik was gewoon begonnen met het maken van een bal tape tijdens de les, het was mijn laatste jaar op de middelbare school, ik was toen ongeveer 18 jaar, dus het moet ongeveer 9 jaar geleden zijn geweest. Ik bleef dit doen toen ik in het KASK (academie/college) zat. Maar ik ben er vijf of zes jaar (2015) geleden mee gestopt met het groter te maken, geloof ik. Het was altijd mijn plan om het in tweeën te zagen en te fotograferen maar ik liet deze bol weg rotten met andere spullen in een hal (opslagplaats)... tot vandaag! Het is nu 14 augustus 2021 en we gaan het doen!!! Dit werk is vernietigt om plaats te maken. Ik zet het online om het werk levend te houden.
