When observing turns into action!!
One critical incident that occurred to me during my placement hours, was the day that I was caught off-guarded as the observation days were over and my mentor thought It was time for me to have my own training session with a client with him just monitoring the whole process. I was immediately shocked and got extremely worried as I did not know that before hand in order to be prepared with what exercises I would demonstrate and how the training session would actually be structured. I went through the session with the help of my mentor as he would interfere with my training and help when I was reluctant to select the following exercise. I felt disappointed and angry at my own inability to plan ahead as I have learned a lot through observation but I was unable to utilise it whenever someone asked me to. I do believe that this incident happened because of my lack of experience within the situation which aided my failure. Being prepared is very essential to build a successful training session.
