A Look into Gotham Rogue Designs
Part 9: Planet Master aka Irving Norbert
I actually had to ask my lovely Batman Expert who this guy was when I asked for another Batman villain design to talk about. So kudos to him for knowing this man.
--------------
This is old comic Batman villain. I ADORE old Batman comics because of how eweird they are.
Ever see that odd Rainbow Batman? Well that Batman came to be because Robin was upset that he broke his arm. To distract the villains from noticing Robins broken arm, Batman turned his suit rainbow! Super sweet!
But the designs of old Batman comic villains are hilariously ridiculous. We're talkin 1900s weirdness.
This guy is one of them.
Meet Irving Norbert, A scientist that was exposed to various meteor gases that gave him a sort of split personality. Weird as hell I know.
His suit changes depending on the planet power being used.
Saturn
Merrcury.
Venus.
Mars.
And Mars respectfully.
Each costume gives off such a silly, weird vibe and I love how creative the comic makers got with these villains. Its great.
-----------
This was short but sweet. I enjoy talking about silly rogues like him.
Next! Another weird forgotten villain! You all don't know him but he is the soul reason Batman has a gaint penny in the Bat Cave.
Jimmy Olsen's adventures in Gotham #2: How long...
Dick: Sometimes, I forget how long I've been fighting crime. The other day someone asked me about Planet Master and I was like "Who?"
"You know! Planet Master! The one with split personalities!"
And I was like, "Honey, you're gonna have to be more specific than that!"
"You know the astronomer who uses planet themed stuff! You fought him as Robin!"
God, I remember thinking "You know, if I fought a man dressed in a crazy quilt outfit, I might as well have fought a Planet Master."
