@planetsank | Continued from here with Michael & Cassidy
“I’M. NOT. DONE.” as much as she hated to admit it- her own desires of revenge were her prison. they were both trapped, no matter how many times she brought him back, just to kill him again in different ways. how long had it been? apparently, not long enough.
his… son, was still here- wanting to help, but she didn’t need it. SHE DIDN’TWANT TO GO YET. it felt like she was alive again, feeling sparks of joy seeing the person who ruined her finally be the one in pain. she tries to take a deep breath, body twitching and shaking with faint sounds of metal and bone clickingtogether.
if she was honest, she was scared to be free. she didn’t know what will happen once her cage was unlocked. nothingness, probably. she was afraid of being LEFT IN THE DARK.
“i don’t think… he’s learned h-his lesson yet. w-w-wouldn’t you agree, michael?”
〚 ❣ 〛 The words that greet him echo with the voice of a young girl, distorted by far too many years of living with hatred and vengeance in her heart, her mind, every fiber of what’s left of her being. He feels an ache in his chest; someone so young shouldn’t be riddled with enough trauma to twist an innocent soul into finding bliss in torture. Michael wants to help Cassidy in the same way he wants to help his own sister, sweet Elizabeth. The same as he wants to help all of the children lost to his father’s hand.
Yet the way she speaks, harsh and determined - he understands. How many others have hunted those who even remotely resemble William? How many have been so hurt, left in such pain, that even the sight of a uniform can drive them to want to hurt, maim, kill?
Yes, Michael understands.
“Yes, Cassidy,” he says after long moments of contemplation. Even though William is his father, and once Michael’s heart hurt for him after the loss of Elizabeth, the horrible things he did afterwards can never be forgiven, not even by William’s son. “I would agree. I do agree..” He imagines, briefly, if he were ever able to conduct similar experiments to his father, but to put the souls back into a body; he doesn’t know how it would work, or if Cassidy would know how to be a normal girl again after living with her pain for so long, but perhaps he can try. For Cassidy, for Elizabeth, for any others who were unjustly taken from their lives. He says nothing of it for now.
“He deserves the hell you have given him, and more. Yet I also believe you deserve to rest. Doesn’t that sound nice, after hurting for these long years?”
