Today I walked past some trees and the awareness they where present in this space when I was a child came to mind. I used to play among them at recess. I used to hide under them when it was raining. A wave a grief bellowed up from my mysteries of my emoutional body. Tears came to my eyes. I pushed them down and continued on my mission. On my way back I felt tired and sat on a bench to rest. I became aware of my stillness in relation to chaos around me. The trees came to mind. How they have stayed still while the world changes around them. As I returned to them, the memory of the man who runs the bakery and the handy man from my building whom both remembered me from over 20 years ago came to mind. These trees where there before and ever since I spent time here in the past. Did they remember me to? Myself? I moved 15? times since I spent some time with them. Constantly adjusting between islands, towns & countries. I learned several different careers and areas of study. I made & lost friends, family, lovers & dreams. All the while these beings kept with a similar routine. This is bizarre to me. I've never had roots and it feels impossible to create them. It feels like every time I try either I get spooked or the carpet is pulled from beneath me. It feels scary when things get comfortable. I'm aware of this pattern. I realized that I have been daydreaming about moving lately. Right on the 9th month mark of moving to back to one of the neighbourhoods I lived the longest when I was a kid. Somehow this willow tree is apart of it all and I plan to spend more time with it. I've experimented in the past and witnessed that willow water helps other trees grow roots.
