Mullein, a sort of bracket mushroom, HUGE vine, phlox and trilliums. Oh, and a cute lady bug.
✨🌿I wish I could bottle the looks I get from people when they see me walking around the neighborhood with handfuls of “weeds” to put in a proper potion. You can always tell if there is a fellow green witch in your neighborhood just by how plentiful or scarce the wild plants are during harvest season. Luckily no one in my little corner of the planet has any idea how PRECIOUS these mullein stalks are. I’m turning the leaves into tea that helps keep the lungs healthy. Harvesting the THOUSANDS of seeds that come from one stalk, then dipping the stalks in local beeswax and herbs to make candles. This is one of my favorite things to do!🌿✨ #mullien #candles #folkmedicine #plants #wildplants #foraging #naturalmedicine #naturalremedy #tea #wildtea #greenwitchcraft #greenwitch #nature #naturelovers #thevelvetlotus https://www.instagram.com/p/CDv8__8h-bP/?igshid=1s4fpnuizy1am
With this upcoming allergy/sick season ahead of us here are a few herbs you can try that might help with breathing! My person favorite is Mullien.
Plant of the Day
Friday 10 May 2019
A stem of yellow flowers have yet to grow but this huge rosette of great grey-white felted leaves of Verbascum bombyciferum (giant mullein) are still making a statement in this sunny border. This plant is a biennial so it overwinters as this stunning rosette and will die after flowering and producing seeds.
