The Hauntings of Plas Teg
Location.
Plas Teg is located near the village of Pontblyddyn, Flintshire between Wrexham and Mold.
History.
The house was built by Sir John Trevor I, a Welsh politician, in about 1610.
When the English Civil War broke out in 1642 the house was raided twice by the Roundheads.
During WWII the house was requisitioned by the War Office to billet soldiers
By the early 1950s, Plas Teg was in a state of decay and under threat of demolition. Following a public outcry, the derelict house received a Grade I listing from Cadw, (the historic environment service of the Welsh Government)

With its reputation as one of the most haunted houses in Britain, Plas Teg has drawn a lot of attention in the Paranormal world. ITV's Extreme Ghost Stories, Most Haunted (twice), Most Haunted Live and Ghosthunting With... have all been to investigate its many reported ghosts.
The Hauntings
There are said to be no fewer than 15 ghosts lurking in the rooms and hallways. As well as serving as a residence for over 400 years, it is also believed to have been a local court, where people were tried and hung.
The Ghost of Dorothy
It is said the ghost of Sir John Trevor I’s daughter, Dorothy haunts the A541 that runs past Plas Teg.
The story goes that, she fell in love with a local farmer’s son named Iorwerth. Her father knew of her feelings for Iorwerth and disapproved, forbidding her from seeing him.
Dorothy had no intention of stopping her relationship with Iorwerth, so in anticipation of the night when she may have to run away, she hid her jewels near to the well.
When that night came, Dorothy ran out to the well to retrieve her jewellery box, but due to the darkness, she slipped and fell down the well to her death.
Her body was discovered 2 months later, however, her jewels were missing. Iorwerth was so distraught at her death and feared being accused of her murder, he hung himself.
Iorwerth's ghost is also believed to haunt the grounds, looking for his beloved Dorothy.

The Ghost Of John Trevor V
Throughout the house, the sound of loud wailing is heard. Could this be the ghost of John Trevor V who died sometime in the mid 18th Century?
He apparently discovered his wife’s affair, and she was killed shortly after, not surprisingly John was suspected of her Murder.
Drunk and guilt-ridden, he drove his carriage at high speed through the grounds of Plas Teg, hitting a tree and severely injuring himself. Due to the injuries he sustained, he died a slow and agonising death.
The Ghost Of Elizabeth.
A young 16 year old named Elizabeth Trevor-Roper also died at Plas Teg in 1815. Two men had fallen in love with her but she only felt the same about one of them.
The man who whose affections were spurned, killed the man she loved in a fit of jealous rage. Terrified he might kill her next, Elizabeth ran, there was a struggle, and Elizabeth either slipped or was pushed down the well, and ultimately drowned.
Is it their ghosts that are reportedly seen running through the corridor? Did she find Dorothy's jewels? Could her and her pursuer be the Lady In White?
Other Reports
Throughout the house, people have reported being touched/prodded, and even pushed by an unseen entity.
Another common occurrence is the sudden emotional changes in different areas of the house. People are often overcome with anger, sadness, despair, and happiness.
The sounds of giggling, sobbing, knocking, whispering, talking, and footsteps are also regular occurrences throughout.
