Dr. Leonard Hochstein: Breast Augmentation

Dr. Hochstein has been performing breast augmentation surgeries in his Miami, Florida-practice for more than 15 years. During that time, he has honed his techniques in order to create the most aesthetically pleasing breast implantation possible. During breast augmentation surgery, Dr. Hochstein places an implant to increase breast size, and works to shape the breasts for a natural appearance. He places the implants in the submuscular position, under the pectoralis ans serratus muscles. The implants that he uses contain a silicone shell around either saline or silicone gel. The saline implants contain a valve that allows inflation once they are in place, while the silicone does not. The implants may be round or teardrop shaped, although Dr. Hochstein prefers the round shape for aesthetic reasons. Although he makes both silicone and saline implants available, Dr. Hochstein prefers silicone because they are more natural appearing and have less of a tendency to wrinkle or ripple. Also, the silicone implants only have about a 2 percent chance of deflation, while saline implants’ deflation rate is as high as 15 percent. Working in conjunction with his patient’s wishes, Dr. Hochstein seeks to augment breasts that match the patient’s desired size, shape, and projection. To determine the patient’s wishes, Dr. Hochstein goes over sample pictures with them, allowing them to choose the look they want.  The implants can also be tried on to approximate the final look.  This careful attention to detail has earned the respect and admiration of patients in Miami, making Dr. Hochstein one of the area’s preferred breast augmentation specialists.  Dr. Hochstein has recently been awarded the Allergan Black Diamond award given to only the top few breast augmentation specialists in the world.
