These days I’ve used almost every scrap piece of fabric I found in one of my mystery crafting boxes. Here’s my cowl covered with something that was supposed to be used only on a test piece.
To make that, I first had to get all my hair in a wig cap and get my boyfriend to help me. We covered half my head in plastic wrapping and then placed the plaster strips to make a cowl. When the plaster was finally dry I removed it, primed it a bit to make it less fragile and then covered it with the same fabric I used for the lekku -well, scraps of it- using hotglue.
All my hair tucked in a wig cap makes the shape of my head really really weird, so the result here definitely lacks symmetry. I had to put it on and test the lekku positioning a couple of times before making sure how to mark where the lekku are going to be attached.
The top center part of the cowl is visible with the headband on, so I decided to hotglue another scrap piece on to cover the messy seams.
