In every form of art, when you think of selecting the supplies, it is always the main ingredients that come in mind at first. The ancillary items, often, are overlooked. They are one of the most useful tools when you think of molding and casting. And, it is very important to have the perfect quality plaster bandages in order to get the ideal final product.

Silent Hill nurse mask. A lot of you seemed to want to know the process so here it is. 1⃣ I placed a plastic bag over my head with holes cut out for my nose and eyes(gotta see and breathe) 2⃣take plaster bandage and lay down your outline. Around the perimeter of your face and an ✖️ that crosses over the bridge/tip of your nose. This makes the mask have that inhuman look. 3⃣ continue with strips of soaked plaster bandage to cover far back on the top of your head-past your ears(you will need to layer this up to take away the shape of your ear)- and any areas along the face(not in front of the eye) that you want covered. Make sure to double/triple up bandage over the "structure" of your face 4⃣ wait a few mins til everything seems hard and dry and remove from your face. You can at this point take the plastic bag out from inside the mask or you can trim it down to give it a lining. At this point I placed mine on a styrofoam head I got from Michaels. 5⃣ this is where you can start to create what you want your nurse mask to look like. I decided I wanted to keep one eyehole open and then have a couple of other shredded open areas since I'd have an actor in a haunted house wearing this for hours at a time. 6⃣once everything was dry, to save money on paint I decided to do the "base paint" with coffee. Once the mask was coated and sufficiently "dirty looking" I let that dry for about 15-20mins. And I then went in to detail paint it with my skin illustrator alcohol activated palette. 7⃣ I then got a black mesh material- doubled it up so that she could see out but no one could see in and attempted to tape it in-that didn't work- so I ended up using latex to seal that in because that was all that was available but if I did this again I would use hot glue. And that's all! There is a strap on the back that is just ace bandage safety pinned on. And it is working wonderfully! If you have any questions leave a comment below!
