She leaves Rebekah with a note and an instruction, Rebekah hands her the keys to a car. A large sleek black thing that isn’t hers to give. She’s unconcerned. He won’t mind. Later - on the floor of her new apartment, she’ll wonder what the point was.

Elena runs away to Vegas after getting her humanity back. Existential crisis ensues.

Hello, hello! How are you doing friend? I’m so in love with Plastic Crown, it’s just so beautiful! Hmm….so I was wondering, what’s going on through Elijah’s head as he sees the new life that Elena has settled into. What are his opinions on it?

hello friend !!! I'm good and sorry this is so late !! I panicked trying to come up with a good answer than forgot rip.

ANYWAY,

I mostly imagine Elijah's head as a cocktail of circus music and distorted Tchaikovskye as he tries to figure out just what the fuck to do with Plastic Crown's Elena.

I think he, at this point, is undecided. He's relieved that she got herself out of MF and proud of the life she's built since she's been in Vegas but there's also alot of confusion and concern.

Because the Elena that he's with now is so different from the one he knew, but the beats of who she was is still there. The core of her is intact, her kindness and love and compassion,,,,, but she's obviously damaged.

I think it's difficult to see because up until PC has been very much in Elena's POV, and compared to where she was in ch1, she's gotten alot better, but she's still not all there. She's still not eating correctly, and still hiding from everything that happened to her. I think Elijah's picking up on the performance of it all. How she's settled into this character of Vegas Elena, of Ophelia, and I'm not sure if he fully knows what to do with it.

Things will definitely pick up over the next chapter or two as he gets more comfortable, because at the moment he's very much testing the thickness of the ice and seeing if it's going to break under him if he get's too familiar.

I do think the stripper aspect is intersting, because Elijah is the only canon tvdu feminist but he's also a whole ass viking so there's a bit of an internal battle happening there lmao.

As for his whole thoughts on her whole vibe... down horrendous, on his knees, horny panic pretty much the whole time (see above circus music).
