hiya. may i know between being active on both tumblr and twitter, which one of the platform u feel more at peace to be at? which community u're more comfortable in?
Hm good question ... I think Tumblr is definitely the winner for which platform is more peaceful & comfortable - in general it's more chill & lowkey here than on Twitter , and while Tumblr has a majority nerd fanbase that encourages fandoms & queer content , Twitter has a lot of riffraff made up of heteros , dudebros , & normies who generally make fandom spaces more bigoted & toxic . I feel like people tend to mind their own business more here and cringe culture isn't as prevalent as it is on Twitter . I generally try to surround myself with chill people on both platforms so I don't end up having to deal with toxicity directly that often , but the Tumblr community is over all more friendly in my experience👌🏼
Also if you don't already have a lot of followers & don't post constantly & consistently , Twitter usually has VERY poor reach for posts and it's really hard to get your content seen by anyone , while on Tumblr is much easier to get notes & have your posts seen by more people (Twitter is very algorithm based while Tumblr is more tag , search , & follower based , which is an easier system to work with in my opinion - plus Tumblr isn't as busy as Twitter so your posts are not as likely to get lost in a sea of content) Basically on Twitter it can often feel like you're just shouting into the void , while on Tumblr it's easier to get an "in" to communities & audiences and connect with other users
