“D-does this smile look n-natural to you?”
Whether she wanted to admit it or not, isolation had an effect on Freya. All that time alone with her thoughts, going over all of their anger and all of her mistakes that she barely understood that she made -- it made her draw into herself, guilty and confused and scared of making another mistake. So when the person across from her asked a question about the homework, she looked like a cornered animal, gaze flickering between them and the paper and her heart began to race.

Getting the feeling like someone was staring at her, Caroline tried not to look at the person next to her until she couldn’t take it anymore. Turning her head, she gave them a look as if to say ‘what do you want’?
“S’ppose I can’t make that ‘ALL-RIGHT’ joke because I’m not.”
Min Jae raises his left arm and leg (or at least attempts to), wincing at the AGONY that shot through his body despite the casts holding him together. He smiles through the PAIN, eyes following the person who just pulled back the curtains. “Get it??”
“No, it’s not a fucking cross. It’s, uh, one of those symbols from Sweden or Norway or whatever. Runes, I think they’re called.”
“So, who else is way too delicate for the sun and doesn’t like swimming and is planning on spending this entire trip in a blanket fort?”
