For me, writing Cullen narratively can be categorized into 2 distinct tropes/themes: a disgraced knight trying to reclaim the honor he thought he lost and military veteran living with the actions and choices he's made.

Whatever you choose is honestly based on what you want to get out of his story.

Not Me Soulmates AU where you know, at least somewhat, what your soulmate looks like.

Maybe the timing's a bit random, maybe you get knowledge of features in a random order, so you might only know what your soulmate's ears look like (does it update when you get scars? can poly people be sure which features belong to which soulmate from the get go? idk)

Anyway, when Sean first met Black he recognised that face and figured Black didn't have the right clues yet, and took the chance to get to know his soulmate without the pressure of both knowing you're soulmates.

And ends up so disappointed. He can't bring himself to leave but he does get mad more easily because of it.

Now White is here and Sean is going to be so confused but also happy but also scared because what if Black changes back again and this soulmate personality disappears.

Meanwhile White recognised Sean but it's not like he can do a damn thing about it right now. Does he have the survival instincts god gave a gnat and not ask Sean about soulmates? Err...

“I guess we should make some formula? I can do that, if you want to go over to Hayden? I can take Flynn with me, then freeze the bathroom for now, until River comes home and we can say goodbye?”

Vy nods,  then sighs.

“Yes, let's freeze the room and Rylan, and then when it's time, we'll come say goodbye.”

He took a deep breath, turning around.

“I'll go to Hayden then, while you go feed the little wizard.”

He giggles a little, a sad giggle.

“Wizard, lizard, we rhyme. “

He sighed sadly and grabbed the trash can.

“I'll throw all this out, mister Hayle, so you can go feed Flynn. I'll go join Hayden soon.” “Sounds like a good plan.”

He walked outside, taking the trash can with him, Hayle walked over to the crib and picked up the little one, deciding to get Rylan’s old crib, as they still had it, so he could rest in their side of the house if needed. 

“Okay, it's going to get a little cold in here, so we'll go make something nice to drink.”

He smiles, the room instantly freezing as he leaves it. Wandering over to where he knows the old bassinet is, and grabbing it before heading to the kitchen, gently putting Flynn into it. 

“And now.. for your first meal.”

He feels his finger held again, making him smile. 

“Your brother bites fingers, you hold them.”

He chuckles as he frees himself off the hold and starts making formula, noticing Felix joining them, the cat jumping up at the counter looking at the little one. Lobo coming quickly afterwards sitting next to the crib.

“Yes, it’s a new family member for you two to guard.”

At the same time in Fannar’s room, the three had just sat there in quiet for a while, until a little star decided to break the quiet.
