𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐎𝐧. . Through the breakers you must go, to rest easy on the outside watching swells lumber in. . While it’s still shallow enough to walk, you can cover ground quickly and push through the shore break, but then the bottom drops out. Fresh shoulders make the first few waves easy to dismiss. A little fatigue sets in, your lungs take you beneath the surface repeatedly, but the distance never seems to amount to much for the effort. Suddenly, that last set clears you and everything gets awfully quiet. Pop up, look around at the calm rollers and know it takes effort to get through the rough patches if you plan on reaching the peace. . We can’t experience all in life, but we can take the ones we each have and use them as a metaphor to grasp just a little bit more of the bigger picture. .
