(Looking back at my other blogs I realized I have been too descriptive but not reflective enough, so before I write down reflectively I will think reflectively then write.)
I’ve got a lot of “artefacts” collected and ready to compile, but truth be told,I want more drawings of myself :). I’ve only got around 40 usable ones due to the huge switch-up in my process, I can't use the other 25 or so portraits (they will go under honorable mentions).
To be honest I felt pretty worried these couple of weeks regarding time, as I kept jumping from concept to concept because their were a lot of different ideas which I wanted to pursue and I mistakenly tried to do more than one at a time which ended up with a whole lot of useless/unfinished notes and just an overall waste of time. Also I had to switch up my mindset as I was thinking too overly confident about this project, and I admit that I got a little ‘cocky’ with my past work, I put my baton down for a few days and slowly stopped to blogging/working :(.
So when I was miraculously thought of this idea after my little sister asked me to draw her, I was fully motivated to make it work. Although I wish I would have thought of it earlier so I could have actually printed out a book in time for the presentation this Wednesday(I’m still going to print the book out though haha). I’ll have pictures of some of the drafts I have so far for the digital book online and how I want the actual physical copy to look like(for Wednesday’s presentation that is). On Thursday I want to display my collections online through an E-Book. But this idea can/may change if I think of something better.
I want to reflect(before it even happens ahah) on tomorrow's presentation. After sending my email to the wrong address i’m 53rd(last in line to present :0). I feel ready to say what I want to say, but I also don't feel ready because I can’t speak in front of people (kind of have minor stage fright) but hopefully the more I present in front of people the faster I can get over it. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to convey my idea and explain what I want to explain tomorrow due to the strict 2 minutes.(like the 2 minute restriction on my portraits :s ) That’s one of my main goals, to speak confidently and convey my ideas/thoughts fluently in front of large crowds.
If I would have come up with this idea on day 1 my plans would have been a lot different, I would have set goals to reach over 100 drawings. I would’ve liked that not only due to the fact that I was enjoying the collection process (yes because it was playful) but because I was so curious to see how each person expressed themselves through their drawings and how they visually interprate me and then labeled me with one word through that drawing. When first showing this concept to my classmates, I thought they’re probably thinking; “woah this guy is just getting other people to do his work for him” or “he’s just getting drawing of himself” so to avoid comments like that from others, I went off to my corner and did a lot of philosophy behind my concept. I posted some of those notes in my (BLOG 3 entry) via Google Drive.
Woah this has been my longest blog. No one is going to read it perhaps but it’s here for those that do want to read it. Thanks for making it this far, I guess? ahha
